Participants benefit on a number of levels:

  • They demonstrate expectations for courses such as Healthy Active Living, Science and Health Care
  • They add to their resume skill sets
  • They enhance their skills for college entrance
  • They enhance their skills for the workplace

Thanks to all who participated and got certified!   And a BIG thanks to Linda and Ricky for teaching us to save lives!

Yesterday, a group of Academy students visited Evergreen Brickworks in the Don Valley. After a beautiful walk to a lookout point overlooking the city of Toronto and some beautiful fall foliage, students headed to the workshop to and learned to repair flat tires on bikes. Oct. 13th, 2011 – Pictures from Camp Pine Crest!

Academy staff and students were treated to warm and sunny weather at our annual trip to an outdoor education centre.  This year, we went to the YMCA Camp Pine Crest for three days of adventure, teambuilding and nature.  The Breakfast Club provided nutritious s’mores for the campfire and the Astronomy Club provided views of our neighbouring Andromeda galaxy through a telescope.  Fun times were had by all.  A special thanks to Pine Crest staff Candace, Matt and Andy for facilitating!

Everyone is looking forward to next year!
