This Friday, June 10th, 2011, is the 2nd annual year end school trip to Toronto Islands!
The purpose of this e-mail is to inform you about the excursion and to seek your support and permission for your child/ward to participate. This information may be shared as necessary with adults supervising the excursion. Specific curriculum expectations related to the field trip will be addressed by individual course teachers.
Purpose of the excursion: To celebrate the “almost” culmination of the school year. Also, the Grade 10 Healthy Active Living (PPL2O) students will host an all school activity while at the Island. The delivery of this activity is PART 2 of their course culminating activity. Attendance and participation at this event should be treated like an exam – this excursion and their facilitation of the activity will be worth 10% of their final mark.
Requirements for Participants:
Activity Cost: TTC fare x 4 + Ferry fare Food/snacks: Bring a brown bag lunch, snacks, and water
Transportation Cost: TTC fare x 4 + Ferry fare ($4.00 for students under 19; $6.50 for adults)
Clothing and equipment: Students should dress in layers, and be prepared for cooler weather, rain or hopefully warm sunshine. Students should be dressed appropriately, apply SPF and wear a hat or other protective clothing if needed.
You may email your permission directly to the school to firstname.lastname@example.org
Should you have any questions about the trip, please don’t hesitate to contact us at the Academy.
