School Wide assemblies

VOICES

The entire school meets for an hour once a month to share their ideas about school life at The YMCA Academy. Discussions may be stimulated by a staff presentation, a guest speaker, a performance or some other activity. Our goal is to create opportunity for students to experience community and exchange their thoughts in an open forum.

TAP (Taking a Pause)

Using the concept of healing circles, students come together in small groups of less than 8. Once a month these circles meet with a staff facilitator to exchange ideas on recent events while encouraging students to take a pause and develop the skill of reflection.
